The BEST Apple Crisp Recipe!

Who does not love a warm, sweet and tasty dessert on a cool Autumn evening? This Apple Crisp recipe is a favourite with our family. It is easy to make and absolutely delicious!

You will need:

* 8+ Apples, sliced, peeled and cored. (We use two different types of apples mixed in together in ours, 1 type of sweet apple and 1 tart).

* Cinnamon to taste. (Honestly, we do not add cinnamon to ours as not everyone likes it and we do not miss it! You can decide based on your tastes).

*1/2 Cup Flour

*3/4 Cup Rolled Oats

*1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

*1/2 Cup Butter Melted

FYI - We usually make a large casserole dish of this so we double the recipe (and sometimes triple the crust recipe because it is sooooo good!). Adjust according to the baking dish you will be using. You really cannot go wrong with butter, sugar, oats and apples!

*Make sure you have extra apples as freshly sliced apples smell delicious and are hard to resist - all of your helpers will be snacking!

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Peel and core apples. Cut into 1/2 inch wedges. Sprinkle with cinnamon and toss to evenly coat. Place into baking dish. Press down firmly.

  2. In a medium-sized bowl, stir flour, rolled oats and brown sugar together. Slowly add butter, working in with a fork.

  3. Carefully mound on top of apples and press evenly into surface. Bake in centre of preheated oven for 45+ mins until apples are tender when pierced and crust is browned. Cooking time will of course depend upon whether or not you have doubled the recipe.

  4. Serve warm with ice-cream or whipped cream and enjoy!
