Make Your Own Glow-In-The-Dark Sidewalk Chalk!

I know a lot of you have been keeping the kids entertained with sidewalk chalk during these last few months and I thought how fun would it be if we can make it a DIY project. On top of that, also spice it up by making it glow in the dark. Below are the ingredients you will need (I was able to find these on amazon for all of you online shoppers). I’d love to see pictures from those of you who are going to give this fun DIY project a go. Please post them and tag us at @TheJenniferJonesTeam on Facebook or Instagram!

GLOWING DIY SIDEWALK CHALK MATERIALS

· 2 Cups Plaster of Paris

· 1 and 1/3 Cups Water

· Medium Glass Mixing Bowl

· 4 Small Plastic Bowls

· Mixing Utensils

· Silicon Molds

STEP 1

First, add your plaster to a medium mixing bowl.

STEP 2

Then add your water to the mixing bowl.

STEP 3

Mix your water and plaster together until smooth.

STEP 4

Once your plaster and water are mixed, separate the mixture into four smaller bowls.

STEP 5

Add different colors of glow in the dark mica powder to each bowl of plaster mix.

STEP 6

Carefully mix the mica powder into the plaster mix. The mica powder can be messy and get everywhere so go slowly until it is worked into the mixture.

STEP 7

Next, fill your silicon molds with the different color mixtures.

STEP 8

Allow your molds to set until the plaster dries.

STEP 9

Pop your sidewalk chalk out and enjoy! Let them “charge” in the sun all day for fun after dark fun!
