Winter can be long and drawn out and while some of us hibernate and try to avoid the cold weather, others embrace it.
Here are a few fun outdoor family winter activities in Georgina. After all, we live in Canada so let’s enjoy Winter!
The Briars Resort
The Briars resort is like entering a winter wonderland with lots of activities for the whole family. Go hiking, snow shoeing or cross country skiing through the resort on great groomed trails with a beautiful scenic backdrop of Lake Simcoe and the Briars Golf Club. Afterwards, cozy up to an outdoor bonfire, relax at the spa, or enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub.
The ROC (Recreational Outdoor Centre)
If you’re looking for some excitement, head on over to The ROC for downhill skiing or snowboarding. There is also multi lane tubing that’s great entertainment for any age.
PIP (Pefferlaw Ice Pad)
Dust off the old hockey or figure skates and spin some laps at the outdoor ice rink in Pefferlaw. It’s a great place to teach your youngsters to skate as well.
Lake Simcoe
Last but definitely not least, try your luck at ice fishing on Lake Simcoe. Lake Simcoe is home to some of the best ice fishing in Canada and is a very poplar activity for locals and for anyone visiting the area.
