Top 5 Tips For Selling In Winter...

As beautiful as the picturesque view can be, there's no denying the chill in the air.

If you are selling your home, this however, offers the perfect opportunity to appeal to your potential buyer's need for warmth the second they walk in the door.

Here's our top five tips for selling your home in the winter months:

1. FIRST IMPRESSION IS EVERYTHING RIGHT?

Ensure your walkways are always clear of snow and salted for safety. This also provides an impression to buyers about a properly maintained home right from the get-go. TIP: have an area/tray for snow covered shows and boots near the front door to protect the floors from showing traffic.

2. KEEP IT COZY!

Adjusting your thermostat to a comfortable temperature invites potential buyers into a cozy space. If you have a gas fireplace, turn it on right before the showing. Not only does it look warm and inviting, it feels so too!

3. LIGHT IT UP!

Lighting is key, especially in winter when it is so limited to begin with. Open up those drapes and turn on the lights to keep the space looking bright and clean. (A reminder to replace bulbs and clean fixtures if you haven't already)

4. KEEP IT ACCESSORIZED WITH WARM DETAILS.

A plush area rug, cozy throws, thick pillows and towels. Amp up on the accessories in your home to add to this feeling!

5. SUMMER DREAMING...

It can be hard to imagine what a home looks like in other seasons when it's blanketed with snow. Do you have great landscaping? A beautiful perennial garden? Thick, lush maple trees? Leaving images in an album or frame is a great way to showcase your house's beauty in different seasons.
