When the weather has cooled and the leaves changed colour, nothing tastes better than these freshly baked chocolate chip cookies - their sweet, tasty goodness will warm the heart and feed the soul.
Here is a favourite family recipe for you to try!
½ cup of Crisco
½ cup of brown sugar-well packed
¼ cup of sugar
½ tsp of vanilla
1 cup of flour
½ tsp of salt
½ tsp of baking soda
¾ of a cup of chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream together Crisco, brown sugar and sugar together until smooth. Beat in 1 egg, then stir in vanilla-blend well
Combine flour, salt, baking soda, and chocolate chips. Stir into the creamed mixture until just blended.
Drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. This recipe makes approximately 24 cookies.
Bake for 7-9 minutes
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
We hope you enjoy them as much as our family does!
