Georgina Waterfront Harvest Run!

Updated: Jan 15, 2020

With the warmer weather finally breaking through the cold winter freeze, now is a great time to start thinking of all the amazing outdoor activities to enjoy this year. If you’re looking for a challenge to push yourself out of your comfort zone, Georgina will be hosting an incredible event this September that you won’t want to miss!

The Georgina Waterfront Harvest Run will be taking place on Saturday September 7th, starting and ending at historic Clearwater Farm in Willow Beach. Organized by local residents Celine Tallian and Ross Fattori in partnership with Run Georgina as a way to share their passion for running while bringing the local community together to support a great cause. All proceeds will be going to support the Farm’s “Barn Raising” fundraising efforts after its tragic destruction in late 2016.

This event features a 5k, 10K and 15K run down the scenic shores of Southern Lake Simcoe. There will be awards for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place men/women in each category of the race. All finishers will receive a special prize, and of course the day wouldn’t be complete without a delicious meal straight from the farm for all the hungry participants.

Non Runner? No problem! There are still lots of ways you can take part, even before the event! Pre-race day, you can register a fundraising Team and help support a great local cause, or donate to your favourite running Team and help them reach the top of the fundraising board.

On race day itself, there are tons of spots along the route to watch the race and cheer on your family and friends all the way to the finish line. The start/finish line is a great place to watch the action and enjoy all the other activities being hosted on the grounds. The day will feature a farmer’s market, live music and post run yoga, as well as tours of Historic Clearwater Farm. There will also be a children’s race and plenty of activities for a fun filled experience the whole family can enjoy.
