Things To Do This Fall In York Region


With colder nights, shorter days and changing leaves it’s clear that fall is in the air. The relief from summer heat makes it the perfect time to soak up the outdoors before the blustery winter weather arrives. There are lots of activities being run around the region for both adults and families this fall.

Apple Picking

Is there anything better than freshly picked apples? Spend a day outside and enjoy your harvest for the months to come. There are many wonderful farms in the area with options to pick your own produce.

Homestead Orchards has long been a Georgina staple, especially coming into fall season. They offer a huge variety of pick your own apples for a perfect fall day with friends or family. Right now they are also offering weekend wagon tours of this working farm.

Applewood Farm Winery in Stouffville is another family friendly offering, with playground and farm animals in addition to pick your own apples. They also offer fruit wines and ciders for purchase, perfect to keep the grown ups warm during the cold nights to come.

Fall Fairs

Festivals are the perfect way to spend a beautiful weekend day with friends or family with something to enjoy for everyone.

Brooks Farms is currently running their annual Fall Fun Festival, which runs every weekend until October 28th. Plenty of fun and games for the kids, plus zip lines and corn maze. Don’t forget to grab some fresh donuts at their farm market

Coopers Farm is another amazing location with plenty to enjoy for everyone. Boasting a 10 ACRE corn maze, with the opportunity to try and navigate in the dark with only your flashlight to guide the way. Scavenger hunts, wagon rides and pumpkin picking.

Scary Tours

Get an early jump on Halloween with these scary local events designed to scare and delight you.

Ghost of Old Town Hall Tours - Running every Wednesday in October, this spooky tour takes visitors on a walking tour of Main St. and the Old Town Hall In Newmarket

One Dark Night - Two nights of Halloween fun at Georgina’s own Pioneer village on Oct 29th & 30th. The first night features medium Angel Morgan on a spiritual journey through the history of Georgina’s earliest residents. On the second night, tour the historical buildings in a guided nighttime ghost walk.

Aurora's Haunted Forest - Saturday Oct 27th at Sheppard’s Bush boasting decorated trails, 3 cabins for you to explore and charity BBQ for when you work up an appetite.

There are a countless number of beautiful trails for hiking and biking both within Georgina and all through York region. Take a leisurely weekend stroll through the woods while the daytime temperatures are still so beautiful. Plus, it’s a perfect opportunity to grab some amazing photos of the fall colours.
